Pinterest interest doubles

Our colleagues in the US and Search Engine Watch recently shone a spotlight on the growth of Pinterest in the US, firing up our thinking circuits in the process. Was Pinterest becoming as popular here?

With pickup from a range of sites and retweets on Twitter, Pinterest has jumped up the ranks for a new Australian high, ranking 25th most popular site in the Social Networking and Forums category last week, almost doubling the amount of weekly Visits from Australians in twelve weeks, from 186,000 Total Visits three months ago to 359,000 Total Visits last week.

Pinterest - Total Visits by Australians

They still have a way to go though, as to make the Top 10 list for Social Networks for January you would have needed over five million Total Visits to knock off tenth placed LinkedIn – Pinterest had 1.3 million.

Experian Hitwise. Now you know.

    Hi,

That is really interesting, what are the other top 10 social media websites? I’m racking my brains as to which sites can possibly come between Facebook and LinkedIn.

      Thanks Stuart.

You can always keep an eye on the Hitwise Data Centre if there’s no post with the info you’re after. Alternatively I’m sure one of our sales staff would be more than happy to help if it’s a commercial request.
